Gummy Smile

A gummy smile or high smile line occurs when someone smiles and raises their upper lip to an extent that they show a lot of upper gum. For such people, a small amount of Botox® can be administered to reduce the amount the upper lip pulls, resulting in less upper gum being shown when smiling. This is a popular treatment for patients undergoing any cosmetic dental treatment as it alters the frame within which the teeth sit.

This treatment does not stop you being able to smile, but it will reduce the pull of the upper lip when smiling, creating a more even smile. Botox® injections can be combined with dermal filler treatment of the lips to provide the ultimate result!
